Need help getting JACLPlus working with JEvents 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I've just installed JACLPlus 1.0.15a on a fresh Joomla! site. Creating my groups and basic permissions seems to have worked fine. I then installed JEvents 1.4.3rc2 and the JACL 1.4.3rc patch for it. But I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to get it working. I can see where you set the permissions to JACL in the JEvents configuration, but I can't find anything in enabling rights on the JACL JACL user group manager settings for ACR.

If anyone has this working, could they point me in the right direction before I'm forced to give up and pay good money for JUGA.

I'm looking for the same information... I'm new to JACLPlus, and I have no idea what the directions mean... they read as follows:

To allow a group to add events from frontend, add below Access Control Rule (ACR) to the group's ACL
'com_events->is_editor->users->GROUPNAME->null->null->yes'
Then, go to JEvents Config to change Access setting to 'Use JACLPlus ACL (require JACLPlus)'

To allow a group to publish events from frontend, add below Access Control Rule (ACR) to the group's ACL
'com_events->is_publisher->users->GROUPNAME->null->null->yes'
Then, go to JEvents Config to change Publish from Frontend setting to 'Use JACLPlus ACL (require JACLPlus)'

Any luck figuring this out? I am having the same problem. I do not know how to set up the prescribed ACR? Anyone care to walk us through it?

Well, it didn't look like there is any help coming so... I hacked and slashed, re-read the manual (yes, RTFM)...

So here you go:
Create your access levels and group. Then edit the Group.
At the bottom, click "See My Group ACL". This should open up an editor for access levels. In the last position in the list, you can type text free form... Then for the ACO section type "com_events" for the ACO value type "is_publisher" For the others (AXO Section, AXO Value) leave blank. Set enabled to Yes. Repeat for "is_editor". Click Save... Now go back to your group editor and you should have pull downs in the boxes for com_events/is_publisher... Set these up and there you go. Hope this helps.... It took me a while, so I hope I save people some time figuring this out...

I was actually trying to write up those instructions and before I could post, I got a notification that you had posted again already... haha. At any rate, thanks for posting this for others... I regret not doing so now

Yeah, I am a little impatient! Thanks for the reply though, it seems like the support on here is hit or miss... Surprising since JACLPlus is awesome and sooooo many people use it.
