I followed the instructions regarding proper installation for J1.5.3 and it keeps breaking my site.

I uploaded the patch files first.

Then I installed the component --> Site breaks!

When I delete the folder com_jaclplus under /administrator/components/ and /components/, the site goes back to normal.

I even applied the new files to patch the 1.5.3 version --> Same results.

I would like for one of the developers to investigate this further, please.

****RESOLVED****

I just had to properly install Zend Optimizer.

Also, make sure that ioncube extensions are loaded before Zend Optimizer extensions.

same here....

i patched my joomla instalattion and then installed the component...

got this error

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '|' in BLABLABALLBLABLABLAadministratorcomponentscom_jaclplusjaclplus.class.php on line 107


then i go to edit that file to fix this but i found an encrypted file....


so please. any help would be apreciated

I am having the same problem (Blank Screen)... i am using Joomla 1.5.4

Is there anyone can help?

I have also seen it break the component if you update your server and it updates the kernel and/or php. You will get the same error message and behavior from Joomla. Just reinstall the Zend Optimizer and it will work once again. I just ran into this problem this morning after a server update was run over the weekend.
